Christian Atheist is a powerful call to action book by Craig Groeschel

My wife and I listened to the audiobook (using the Libby App) during our commute to work together. However, I do wish Groeschel spoke the audio since it was things from him and his experiences.

Craig Groeschel’s book, “Christian Atheist,” is a powerful call to action for believers who struggle to reconcile their faith with their daily lives. As Christians, we often find ourselves compartmentalizing our beliefs, keeping them separate from the rest of our lives. #ChristianAtheist

We go to church on Sundays, read our Bibles, and say our prayers, but when we step out of our sanctuaries, we forget our commitment to God and begin living as though He doesn’t exist. This is what Groeschel calls “Christian Atheism.”

In his book, Groeschel challenges Christians to recognize and overcome this paradoxical way of living. He reminds us that faith is not just something we do on Sundays; it’s a way of life. As James 2:17 says, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” To be a true Christian, we must live out our faith in every area of our lives.

One of the key points Groeschel makes in the book is that Christian Atheists tend to view God as a means to an end. We pray when we need something, but when things are going well, we forget about Him. We seek His help when we’re in trouble, but we don’t make Him the center of our lives. This kind of faith is shallow and doesn’t reflect the love and commitment that God desires from us.

Another powerful message in “Christian Atheist” is that we must be willing to let go of our past and embrace the future that God has for us. Many Christians struggle with guilt and shame over mistakes they’ve made in the past, but Groeschel reminds us that God’s grace is always available to us. We must learn to forgive ourselves and move forward, trusting that God will use our experiences to make us stronger and more faithful.

Finally, Groeschel emphasizes the importance of community in our Christian walk. We cannot grow in our faith alone; we need the support and encouragement of other believers. We need to be open and vulnerable with others, sharing our struggles and our triumphs. Only then can we experience the true power of God’s love and grace in our lives.

In conclusion, “Christian Atheist” is a must-read for any Christian who wants to deepen their faith and live a more authentic life. Groeschel’s message is both challenging and inspiring, calling us to break down the barriers between our faith and our everyday lives. If you’re looking for a book that will challenge you to take your faith to the next level, this is it.

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I believe you will enjoy it too! I honestly think we ALL can relate. Too often we do say one thing and show another.
